How to do it
- Drop your CSV file on the page, or paste a table.
- Check the preview and the summary line. If the delimiter is wrong, choose the right Input delimiter.
- Optionally clean the data: remove empty rows and duplicates, trim spaces.
- Click Download Excel.
Why convert first
A CSV is plain text, and Excel guesses its delimiter and encoding from your computer’s settings. When the guess is wrong, columns merge or accents break. An .xlsx file stores each value in its own cell, so it opens the same way everywhere. Plain numbers are saved as numbers, while values with leading zeros, such as 00123, and decimals written with a comma stay as text.
Questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
Does the Excel file keep formatting?
CSV files contain no formatting, so the result has only data in one sheet named Sheet1.
Can I convert several files at once?
Not yet. CSVFix converts one file at a time.
